Natura AstaxanthinMedicatrix is natural and outcome of the algae Haematococcus Pluvalis. This microalga is capable of producing a very high amount of this red pigment belonging to the carotenoid family. This occurs under stress conditions (high salinity, high temperatures and light ...).
Seaweed H. Pluvalis exists in 2 different forms: (a) the "green" stage where the alga is Capable of swimming thanks to its two flagella, (b) the "red cyst" stage that accumulates astaxanthin in response to stressful environmental conditions (Mr. Mularczyk, et al., 2020).
