Active vitamin B12
500 µg of methylcobalamin per tablet
MecobalActive® is rich in vitamin B12 in the form of methylcobalamin, an active and stable form that the body recognises and uses directly, with no intermediate conversion step.
Produced in Europe using a patented, environmentally friendly process, it is manufactured in Germany by Dr. Jacob’s®. The tablet melts on the tongue, without water, and has a pleasant cherry flavour.

Methylcobalamin or cyanocobalamin?
Choosing the active form
Methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin are the two bioactive forms of vitamin B12, methylcobalamin being the most common.
Many food supplements contain cyanocobalamin. This must first be converted into methylcobalamin before it can perform its roles, and its half-life is shorter.
The methylcobalamin in MecobalActive® is used directly by the body. It is a pure, highly stable and bioactive form, and its absorption already begins in the lining of the mouth.
Absorption
The role of intrinsic factor
To be absorbed in the gut, vitamin B12 must first bind to intrinsic factor, which is produced by the stomach. Certain disorders of the stomach lining and certain medicines limit its production: MecobalActive®, which melts on the tongue, is then a suitable solution.

Who is it for?
Are you getting enough vitamin B12?
- From the age of 50: absorption of vitamin B12 from food decreases, which increases requirements.
- Vegetarians and vegans: vitamin B12 is found mainly in foods of animal origin.
- Pregnant and breastfeeding women, whose vitamin B12 requirements are increased.
- Women taking oral contraceptives.
- People who exercise regularly or are under stress.
A high-dose supplement can temporarily replenish the liver’s vitamin B12 stores when intake has been too low over a long period. At 500 µg, methylcobalamin is very well tolerated.
For children
MecobalActive® is designed for adults
