The Gynostemma pentaphyllum is a plant traditionally known as Jiaogulan and nicknamed "immortality grass".
Like ginseng, gynostema naturally contains saponins. Those characteristic of gynostemma are called gypénosides.
More than 100 types of Gypénosides have been identified in Gynostemma, which explains the interest in the particularly rich phytochemical profile of this plant.
