The thyroid acts as a true conductor: it produces hormones that act throughout the body.
Thyroid Vitality combines iodine and selenium, which contribute to normal thyroid function. Iodine also contributes to the normal production of thyroid hormones. The formula is completed by active vitamin B12, lactobacilli and bifidobacteria.
Thyroid Vitality is a source of natural iodine from a marine seaweed, Ascophyllum nodosum. As an organic compound, this iodine is released more slowly in the body, for a longer-lasting action.
This iodine-rich seaweed comes from protected waters off the coast of Scotland. Freshly harvested, it is carefully processed and free from fish and shellfish residues.
Iodine contributes to the normal production of thyroid hormones and normal thyroid function. Selenium complements the action of iodine: it also contributes to normal thyroid function.
Vitamin B12 is often lacking in vegans and vegetarians. Thyroid Vitality provides 2.5 µg of vitamin B12 per capsule (100% of the Reference Intake), in its active form: methylcobalamin, which the body uses directly.
Like iodine, vitamin B12 contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and to normal functioning of the nervous system.
The formula is completed by 2.25 billion selected lactic acid-producing bacteria: Lactobacillus plantarum and Bifidobacterium breve. Their micro-encapsulation protects them from gastric juices and bile acids: they become active once they reach the large intestine.
