Calanus is a complete lipid extract of the small crustacean Calanus Finmarchicus, a herbivore copepod naturally present in the North Atlantic off Norway.
First link of the marine food chain, it feeds on phytoplankton, which preserves it from contamination by the heavy metals and other pollutants.
